Your DirectAdmin password protects access to your website files, databases, and email settings, so keeping it strong and current is important. Changing it takes only a moment from inside DirectAdmin. This guide shows you how, and what to do if you cannot log in at all.
Changing your password from inside DirectAdmin #
- Log in to DirectAdmin (usually yourdomain.com:2222).
- Click your username or account name, then choose Senha (sometimes “Change Password”).
- Enter your current password, then your new password twice.
- Use the strength meter or generator to create a strong password.
- Clique em Salvar.
If you cannot log in #
If you have forgotten the password entirely, you cannot change it from inside DirectAdmin. Instead, reset it from your Disoh client area, where your hosting login details are managed, or contact support to have it reset for you.
Choosing a strong password #
- Use at least 12 characters with a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols.
- Avoid reusing passwords from other sites.
- Consider a password manager to store it safely.
Good to know #
Changing your main DirectAdmin password does not change your individual email account passwords; those are managed separately. If you believe your account was accessed by someone else, change the password immediately and review your email accounts and FTP users.
