Backups protect you from mistakes, failed updates, and lost files. cPanel includes built-in backup tools you can use yourself. Here is how to create and download a backup.
Creating a full backup #
- Faça login no cPanel.
- No Files section, click Backup.
- Under Full Backup, click Download a Full Account Backup.
- Choose the destination (usually Home Directory) and start the backup.
- You will be notified when it is ready, then you can download it.
Note: a full backup is mainly for migration and cannot always be restored from the cPanel interface directly.
Creating a partial backup (recommended for restores) #
Partial backups are easier to restore yourself:
- Home Directory: downloads your website files.
- MySQL Databases: downloads a database.
- Email Forwarders/Filters: downloads email settings.
Click the item you want under “Download a Partial Backup”.
Restoring a partial backup #
- Return to the Backup page.
- Under Restore, choose the type (files, database, or email).
- Upload the backup file and start the restore.
Best practices #
- Back up before any major change.
- Keep a recent copy on your own computer.
- Restore a test copy occasionally to confirm your backups work.
Solução de problemas #
- Backup takes a long time: large sites need more time; wait for the notification.
- Restore fails: make sure you are restoring the matching type.
- Not enough space: remove old backups before creating new ones.
