Two-factor authentication, or 2FA, adds a second layer of security to your Disoh client area. Even if someone learns your password, they cannot log in without the second code from your phone. Because your account controls billing and services, enabling 2FA is one of the best things you can do to keep it safe. This guide explains how to set it up.
What 2FA is and why it matters #
With 2FA enabled, logging in requires two things: something you know (your password) and something you have (a time-based code from an app on your phone). This means a stolen password alone is not enough to access your account, which dramatically reduces the risk of unauthorised logins.
Wat je nodig hebt #
- A smartphone with an authenticator app, such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or Authy.
- Access to your client area to enable the feature.
How to enable 2FA #
- Log in op uw klantenportaal.
- Go to your account Security Settings (usually under your name or profile menu).
- Choose to enable Authenticatie met twee factoren.
- Scan the displayed QR code with your authenticator app.
- Enter the six-digit code the app generates to confirm.
- Save, and store your backup code somewhere safe.
Save your backup code #
When you enable 2FA, you are usually given a backup or recovery code. This is important: if you lose your phone, the backup code is how you regain access. Store it somewhere secure and separate from your phone, such as a password manager. Without it, recovering access is much harder.
Inloggen met tweefactorauthenticatie (2FA) #
After enabling it, each login asks for your password and then the current code from your authenticator app. The code changes every 30 seconds, so enter the one showing at the time. This quick extra step keeps your account far more secure.
Problemen oplossen #
- Code not accepted: make sure your phone’s time is set automatically, as codes are time-based.
- Je telefoon kwijt: use your backup code to log in, then reconfigure 2FA.
- No backup code: contact support to verify your identity and restore access.
