If an invoice is not paid by its due date, it becomes overdue, and this can eventually affect your services. The process is designed to give you fair warning and chances to pay before anything is interrupted. Understanding how it works helps you act quickly and avoid downtime. This guide explains what happens and how to put things right.
The stages of an overdue invoice #
Non-payment does not cause an instant shutdown. Instead there is a sequence, with reminders along the way:
- Due date reached: the invoice becomes overdue and reminders are sent.
- Reminders: follow-up emails ask you to pay, sometimes with a late fee applied.
- Suspension: if it stays unpaid, the related service is temporarily suspended and goes offline.
- Termination: after a prolonged period unpaid, the service may be terminated and data removed.
What suspension means #
When a service is suspended, it is paused rather than deleted. Your website and email for that service stop working until the invoice is paid, but your data is still there during this period. Paying the outstanding invoice normally restores the service, often automatically and quickly.
How to fix an overdue invoice #
- Faça login na sua área do cliente.
- Abrir Billing > My Invoices and find the overdue invoice.
- Pay it, including any late fee shown.
- Wait a few minutes for the service to be reactivated.
About late fees #
A late fee may be added to an overdue invoice to encourage timely payment. The way to avoid it is simply to pay before the due date. If a late fee has been applied, it will be included in the invoice total that you pay to bring the account back in good standing.
How to avoid this altogether #
Preventing overdue invoices is straightforward with a few habits:
- Enable automatic payments so invoices are paid on time.
- Keep a valid, non-expired payment method on file.
- Keep your account email current so you receive reminders.
- Pay promptly when you see an invoice, rather than leaving it.
Solução de problemas #
- Service still down after paying: allow a few minutes, then contact support if it does not return.
- Auto-payment failed: update your payment method and pay the invoice manually.
- Worried about termination: pay as soon as possible, as data can be removed after prolonged non-payment.
