Microsoft Outlook is one of the most popular desktop email programs, and connecting your Disoh mailbox to it is straightforward once you have the right settings. This guide walks through adding your DirectAdmin email account to Outlook.

Find these in DirectAdmin under E-mail Accounts, using the mail client setup link:
- Eingehende E-Mails (IMAP): Ihr Mailserver, Port 993, SSL/TLS.
- Ausgehend (SMTP): Ihr Mailserver, Port 465, SSL/TLS.
- Benutzername: Ihre vollständige E-Mail-Adresse.
Adding the account in Outlook #
- Open Outlook and go to Datei > Konto hinzufügen.
- Enter your email address and choose Advanced options > Let me set up my account manually.
- Wählen Sie IMAP.
- Enter the incoming and outgoing servers and ports above.
- Use your full email address as the username, enter your password, and finish.
Why IMAP over POP #
IMAP keeps mail on the server and in sync across devices, so a message read on your phone shows as read in Outlook. POP tends to download and remove mail, which can cause it to disappear from other devices. IMAP is the better choice for most people.
