If more than one person needs access to your Disoh account, for example a colleague, a business partner, or your web developer, you can add additional contacts (sometimes called sub-accounts). This lets them handle specific tasks without sharing your main login. This guide explains how contacts work and how to set them up safely.
Why use additional contacts #
Adding a contact is far safer and tidier than sharing your own password. Each contact has their own login and only the permissions you grant. This is ideal when you want someone to handle billing or technical matters, or simply to receive certain notifications, while you keep overall control of the account.
How to add a contact #
- Log in to your client area.
- Open your profile or account menu and choose Contacts/Sub-Accounts.
- Select the option to add a new contact.
- Enter their name and email address.
- Choose whether to give them their own login, and set a password if so.
- Select the permissions and notifications they should receive.
- Save.
Choosing the right permissions #
Grant only what each person needs. Typical permission areas you can toggle include:
- View and pay invoices for someone handling billing.
- Open support tickets for a technical contact.
- Manage products and domains for a developer.
- Receive specific emails, such as invoices or support replies.
Keeping permissions minimal is good security practice.
Choosing which emails they receive #
Contacts can be set to receive particular categories of email, such as billing notices, support replies, or product notifications. This is useful, for example, when you want your accountant to get invoices but not technical alerts. Set these preferences when creating the contact, and adjust them any time.
Managing or removing contacts #
You remain in control of every contact. From the same Contacts area you can edit a contact’s permissions, change their notification settings, or remove them entirely when they no longer need access, such as when a developer finishes a project.
Troubleshooting #
- Contact cannot log in: confirm you enabled a sub-account login and set a password.
- Not receiving expected emails: check the email preferences for that contact.
- Contact has too much access: edit their permissions to narrow it.
