How to Download an Invoice or Receipt and Add Your VAT Details

2 min read

For your bookkeeping, tax returns, or expense claims, you will often need a proper copy of an invoice or a paid receipt. Your Disoh client area lets you download these as PDFs at any time, and you can make sure your company and VAT details appear on them. This guide explains how.

Where your invoices live #

Every invoice, paid or unpaid, is stored in your client area, so you never have to rely on saved emails:

  • Log in to your client area.
  • Open the Billing menu and choose My Invoices.
  • Click any invoice to open it.

Downloading an invoice or receipt as a PDF #

  • Open the invoice you need.
  • Use the Download option to save it as a PDF.
  • A paid invoice serves as your receipt, showing the payment date and method.

You can download as many copies as you like, whenever you need them.

Adding your company and VAT details #

To make sure your invoices are valid for your accounts, your business details need to be on your profile. Invoices are generated from the information in your account, so update it there:

  • Go to your account or profile details.
  • Add or correct your company name and address.
  • Enter your VAT or tax ID number in the appropriate field.
  • Save your changes.

New invoices will then include these details. It is best to set this up before your first payment so every invoice is correct from the start.

Why VAT details matter #

If you are a VAT-registered business, having your VAT number on your invoices is important for reclaiming VAT and for accurate records. Adding it also ensures your invoices meet the requirements your accountant or tax authority expects. If you are unsure whether to add a VAT number, check with your accountant.

Troubleshooting #

  • Details missing on an old invoice: invoices already issued may not update; add your details so future ones are correct, and ask support if you need a past one amended.
  • Cannot find the download option: open the individual invoice rather than the list view.
  • Wrong company name: update your profile details, then check the next invoice.
