Apple Mail on your Mac is a clean, capable email app, and adding your Disoh mailbox to it takes only a few minutes. This guide walks you through the settings and steps.
The settings you need #
- Incoming (IMAP): your mail server, port 993, SSL.
- Outgoing (SMTP): your mail server, port 465, SSL.
- Username: your full email address.
- Your mailbox password.
Adding the account #
- Open Mail and go to Mail > Add Account (or System Settings > Internet Accounts).
- Choose Other Mail Account.
- Enter your name, full email address, and password.
- When prompted, set the account type to IMAP and enter the incoming and outgoing servers above.
- Finish, and Apple Mail will verify the connection.
If automatic setup fails #
Apple Mail sometimes guesses the wrong settings. If it cannot connect, enter the incoming and outgoing server details manually, making sure SSL is enabled and the username is your full email address.
Tips #
- Use IMAP so your mail stays in sync with your other devices.
- Check the outgoing (SMTP) server uses port 465 with SSL.
Troubleshooting #
- Cannot connect: re-check the server names, ports, and SSL.
- Can receive but not send: confirm the SMTP settings and authentication.
