How to Upgrade or Downgrade Your Hosting Plan

As your website grows or your needs change, you may want to move to a bigger hosting plan, or scale back to a smaller one. Disoh lets you request an upgrade or downgrade from your client area, so you can match your plan to what you actually need. This guide explains how it works and what to consider before changing.

When to upgrade #

Upgrading makes sense when your current plan is starting to feel tight. Common signs include:

You are running low on disk space or bandwidth.
Your site has grown and needs more resources to stay fast.
You want features included in a higher plan.
You are adding more websites or email accounts.

When to downgrade #

Downgrading is worth considering if you are paying for more than you use, for example after retiring a project or if your usage is consistently well within a smaller plan’s limits. Just make sure your current usage will fit inside the smaller plan before switching.

How to change your plan #

Log in to your client area.
Open Services and select the hosting service you want to change.
Look for the Upgrade/Downgrade option on the service page.
Choose the plan you want to move to.
Review any price difference and confirm.

What happens to billing #

When you change plans, the system typically adjusts your billing to reflect the new price, often prorating the difference for the current period. You will see the amount due, if any, before you confirm, so there are no surprises. Your next invoice then reflects the new plan price.

Before you downgrade: check your usage #

A downgrade can fail or cause problems if your current data exceeds the smaller plan’s limits. Before downgrading:

Check your current disk and bandwidth usage on the service page.
Remove or archive anything you no longer need.
Confirm your usage fits comfortably within the target plan.

Troubleshooting #

Upgrade option missing: not all products support self-service changes; contact support.
Downgrade blocked: your usage may exceed the smaller plan; reduce it first.
