How do I create an email account in DirectAdmin?

With DirectAdmin, you can easily create personalized email accounts (e.g. [email protected]) for your domain.

Steps to create a new email account:

  1. Log in to DirectAdmin.
  2. Under the E-Mail Manager section, click on E-Mail Accounts.
  3. Click the Create Account button.
  4. Fill in the details:
    • Username: Choose the part before @yourdomain.com (e.g. info).
    • Password: Create a strong password, or use the “Random” generator.
    • Email Quota (MB): Set a limit or choose unlimited.
  5. Click Create to finish.

Accessing your email:

  • Webmail: Log in via https://yourdomain.com/webmail using your full email address and password.
  • Email client (Outlook, Thunderbird, Apple Mail, etc.):
    • Incoming server (IMAP): mail.yourdomain.com, port 993, SSL enabled
    • Outgoing server (SMTP): mail.yourdomain.com, port 465, SSL enabled
    • Username: full email address (e.g. [email protected])
    • Password: the password you created

Tips:

  • IMAP is recommended so emails stay synced across all devices.
  • If you have trouble sending mail, ensure SMTP authentication is enabled in your mail client.
