# How do I set up my email on an iPhone or Android device in DirectAdmin?

Reading your Disoh email on your phone keeps you connected wherever you are. Once you have created a mailbox in DirectAdmin, adding it to an iPhone or Android device takes just a few minutes. This guide covers the settings you need and how to enter them.

## Before you start

Have these details ready, found in DirectAdmin under E-mail Accounts using the device setup link:

- **Email address and password.**
- **Incoming server (IMAP):** your mail server hostname, port 993 with SSL.
- **Outgoing server (SMTP):** your mail server hostname, port 465 with SSL.

IMAP is recommended so your mail stays in sync across devices.

## Adding the account on iPhone

1. Open **Settings > Mail > Accounts > Add Account**.
2. Choose **Other**, then **Add Mail Account**.
3. Enter your name, email address, and password.
4. Set the type to **IMAP** and enter the incoming and outgoing servers.
5. Save.

## Adding the account on Android

1. Open your mail app and choose to add an account.
2. Select **Other** or **IMAP**.
3. Enter your email address and password.
4. Enter the incoming and outgoing server details and ports.
5. Finish setup.

## Troubleshooting

- **Cannot connect:** confirm the server hostname, ports, and that SSL is enabled.
- **Can receive but not send:** check the outgoing (SMTP) settings and that authentication is on.
- **Password rejected:** re-enter the mailbox password carefully.
