Your theme controls how your WordPress site looks. Installing a new one is quick, whether you choose a free theme from the WordPress directory or upload one you have bought. This guide covers both.<\/p>\n

Option 1: Install a free theme from the directory<\/h2>\n

  1. Go to Appearance > Themes > Add New<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  2. Browse or search for a theme.<\/li>\n
  3. Click Install<\/strong>, then Activate<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Option 2: Upload a theme you purchased<\/h2>\n

    1. Download the theme’s .zip file from the provider.<\/li>\n
    2. Go to Appearance > Themes > Add New > Upload Theme<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    3. Choose the .zip file and click Install Now<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    4. Click Activate<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      • Use Appearance > Customize<\/strong> to set your logo, colours, and menus.<\/li>\n
      • Check your pages still display correctly.<\/li>\n

        • Pick a lightweight, well-reviewed theme for speed.<\/li>\n
        • Make sure it is actively maintained and updated.<\/li>\n
        • Avoid piling on features you will not use.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Troubleshooting<\/h2>\n

          • Upload fails:<\/strong> the file may exceed the upload limit; raise it or upload via File Manager.<\/li>\n
