If you or a team member is locked out of a mailbox, or you simply want to tighten security, you can reset any email account’s password in DirectAdmin in a few clicks. This is separate from your main DirectAdmin login. This guide explains how.<\/p>\n

Resetting an email password<\/h2>\n

  1. Log in to DirectAdmin (usually yourdomain.com:2222<\/em>).<\/li>\n
  2. Go to Account Manager<\/strong> and click E-mail Accounts<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  3. Find the mailbox in the list.<\/li>\n
  4. Click the options or gear icon and choose to change the password (or use the modify option).<\/li>\n
  5. Enter a new, strong password and save.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Update your devices afterwards<\/h2>\n

    After changing a mailbox password, any device or app using that account will stop sending and receiving until you update it. Remember to update the password in:<\/p>\n

    • Your phone or tablet mail app.<\/li>\n
    • Desktop clients such as Outlook or Apple Mail.<\/li>\n
    • Webmail, if it has saved credentials.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
